Sugar Plums

2cups whole almonds1/4cup honey
2teaspoons grated orange zest1-1/2teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2teaspoon ground allspice1/2teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1cup finely chopped dried apricots1cup finely chopped pitted dates
1cup confectioners sugar


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Toast almonds in oven, 10 minutes; cool, finely chop. Combine honey, orange zest, cinnamon, allspice & nutmeg in a bowl. Add almonds, apricots & dates; mix well. Pinch off rounded teaspoon-size pieces of mixture & roll into balls. Roll balls in sugar; refrigerate on waxed paper in airtight containers for up to 1 month.
