Swiss Apple Pudding

6Fuji apples, peeled and sliced1/2teaspoon ground nutmeg
1cup all-purpose flour1/8teaspoon ground cloves
1/2cup sugar1egg, lightly beaten
3/4teaspoon baking powder4tablespoons butter or margarine
1teaspoon ground cinnamon1/2cup water
1/2teaspoon ground ginger


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Distribute apple slices evenly in lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Add egg; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle flour mixture over apples to cover. Dot with butter; drizzle with water. Bake 30-40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golder brown. Serve warm. Serves 8.
