Robert Love was a Scottish baker who landed in Honolulu in 1851, after 80 days at sea from Sydney with his wife, Margaret, and their three sons. Two years later, he opened the first Love's Biscuit & Bread Co. on Nuʻuanu Street. The bakery stayed in the family for generations. Love's has been baking in Hawaiʻi for more than 170 years. Through its Spirit of Giving program, customers nominate local nonprofits and the company awards grants and product to the ones selected. More than $275,000 has gone out since 2021.
