About the producer
Mike Nakamura started Lovely Candy Co. because his wife Jackie could no longer eat red licorice. She had developed food allergies, and licorice starts with wheat. The couple went looking for a replacement and came up empty, so they decided to make one themselves. Mike called on connections he made in the past as a candy buyer for a drugstore chain to work through recipes. The gluten-free licorice that started it all.
Everything is made without gluten, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial colors and flavors. Mike knows that candy isn’t health food. He’d just rather you indulge in something made with ingredients worth eating.
