Saturday, July 25th Capay Tomato Tasting

Capay Tomato 2009
Presented by Farm Fresh To You and The Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit
Saturday, July 25th, 5:00pm
Capay Organic - 23800 State Highway 16, Capay

Join us for a summer evening on the farm, to celebrate heirlooms, the art of picnicking and live music. Bring a picnic, a blanket and your ears and spend the evening enjoying the Capay heat and three local bands. Kick off the night with an heirloom tomato tasting of over ten different varieties with Farmer Thaddeus Barsotti. Prepared foods by Chef Jaymes Luu will be available for purchase, including seasonal sandwiches and fruit popsicles. Beer and local wines will also be available for purchase at the event. Farm Fresh To You will provide complimentary heirloom tomatoes to accompany your picnic.

Bring a spectacular picnic to be considered for the Best Capay Picnic - we will be scouting around for the best picnic at the event and taking photos of the best picnic. The winner will receive three deliveries of Farm Fresh To You.

A silent auction, exhibiting regional artwork and artisan goods, will take place throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture. The specific purpose of the non-profit is to benefit the public by promoting sustainability in agriculture and life. The programs of the non-profit may include:
* Awarding scholarships to young women pursuing an education that focuses on integrating sustainable agriculture into our society
* Providing educational assistance to children of farm workers
* Educating the public about sustainable farming practices
