About the producer
Growing up in Portland, Oregon, Josie always had dogs and cats as family members. When she and partner Isiah adopted Ember, a confident adventure cat in 2018, Josie wanted her to wear bandanas like their dogs Kahlua and Ronan. However, traditional triangle bandanas designed for dogs left uncomfortable knots around Ember's petite neck and pulled at her fur.
Josie redesigned the standard bandana with a curved neckline to eliminate bunching and added three metal snaps for easy adjustability. What started as a solution for Ember quickly attracted attention from other cat enthusiasts who wanted to know where to find similar accessories. This all led to Josie and Isiah founding The Luminous Pets and handcrafting inclusive bandanas that work comfortably for cats and dogs of all sizes, from petite housecats to big, fluffy dogs.
