About the producer
Galison started in New York City in 1979 with a simple premise that art does not have to stay on a museum wall. The company partnered with museums to take select artwork from their collections and put it onto well-made paper goods, so more people could live with images they would otherwise only visit.
The catalog grew as the company did. Calendars and books came first, then stationery, and eventually a much wider range of things for the desk, the shelf, and the table. Nearly fifty years on, Galison is still based in New York and the aim has not changed since the beginning, which is to bring more art into everyday life.
