Product details
Add a handmade ornament to your tree with this simple DIY kit ideal for beginners! Holes are pre-cut and stitches are clearly marked out so it’s easy to follow along. The needle has a blunt tip, making it safer for kids, too. The ornament is made out of a wood-like kraftboard that resembles real gingerbread fresh from the oven. Once you're done stitching, use the adhesive velvet backing to hide the back of the stitches and create a polished look.
This kit includes:
• Lasercut ornament
• Range of DMC Embroidery Floss
• No. 18 Tapestry needle
• Adhesive velvet backing
• Instruction sheet
You'll also need:
• scissors
About the producer
Michelle Galletta founded Kiriki Press after struggling to find an embroidery pattern for a doll she wanted to make for her niece. Michelle, who is a printmaking graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design, couldn't find patterns that matched what she had in mind, so she designed her own and taught herself to embroider three owl dolls. She spent several years refining her embroidery skills and design approach before launching Kiriki Press in December 2012. The Toronto-based company has since expanded its collection of DIY products to give others the opportunity to create handmade objects themselves.
