Estate grown in California, Durum is the hardiest of wheats, high in protein and golden in hue. It is most ideal for craft baking, pasta-making, whole milled flours, and a healthy, holistic approach to eating. These whole wheat berries have a lovely sweet, malty flavor. Try cooking this delicious whole grain and adding it to your favorite salad. Ancient grains are higher in fiber, antioxidants, micronutrients, and yet usually lower in gluten content than modernized hybridized grains. Not certified organic.

Rancho Llano Seco is a 150-year old 6th generation family farm with a rich history of balancing agriculture, livestock husbandry and conservation. Llano Seco means dry plain in Spanish, and comes from the dry land wheat fields that have been a source of pride for the Rancho's farmers since its inception. Located between the Sacramento River and Chico Creek, and their various sloughs and oxbows, Rancho Llano Seco respectfully carries on the traditions of the Wintu, Maidu and Yana tribes of this region, balancing the cultivated fields, untouched waterways and wilderness corridors. Among their crops are heirloom beans and ancient grains, grown with methods honed over the decades and which maintain the fertility of the soil and nutritional value and flavor of these unique varieties.
