About the producer
In 1983, Samuel Kaymen and Gary Hirshberg founded a nonprofit organic farming school in New Hampshire. Their goal was to support family farms, ensure the health of food production and protect the environment. To raise funds, they began selling high-quality yogurt made without harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The yogurt became popular, leading Samuel and Gary to realize that an organic company could make a bigger impact than the school. Thus, they decided to focus on yogurt production.
Today, Stonyfield Organic offers a wide range of organic products, including yogurt, smoothies, soy yogurts, frozen yogurts, milk, and cream. These products are sold nationwide without the use of toxic pesticides, artificial hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs. They are committed to sustainable practices. They offset emissions from their yogurt production facilities, use plant-based materials for yogurt cups and generate renewable energy. While the original organic farming school is no longer active, the company's dedication to promoting healthy food, individuals, and the planet has only grown stronger.
