About the producer
When entrepreneur Alex Matthews explored the produce and meat markets of Mexico City, he discovered Tepache, a refreshing and flavorful drink like nothing he’d ever tasted. Even more amazing were the hundreds of different variations of this ancient Mexican beverage that he found throughout the city. Alex met and partnered with Rafael Martin Del Campo who had learned how to make this spiced fermented pineapple drink from his grandmother before also studying culinary arts and food science. Together, they studied many different flavors and recipes for Tepache and adapted them for larger-scale fermentation processes. From this, the De La Calle drink company was founded, blending traditional and modern ingredients to create a unique healthy, delicious line of beverages for a wider market.
