Rancho Meladuco's delicious dates have garnered lots of press and praise and a faithful fan following! Why? Because they focus on packing only exceptionally delicious and tender Medjool dates. Their dates are selected for their deep, rich caramel and brown sugar flavors and melt in your mouth texture. There are approximate 17-22 California-Grown whole, unpitted dates per 16 oz. box.
Storage and shelf life: To preserve the moisture and texture of our dates we recommend freezing (ideal, and keeps for up to 2 years) or refrigeration at a minimum (up to 2 months). Room temp only if cool and dry, and for not longer than a month ideally. We recommend back stock be kept frozen until needed. Dates are not necessarily perishable if stored longer in refrigeration or room temperature, but sugaring (sand like or large crystals on or under the skin) and dehydration of the dates can occur under these conditions.
About the producer
Joan Smith is the founder of Rancho Meladuco and a date farmer. A mother of three, CPA, and avid cook, foodie, and hobby gardener, Joan began farming dates out of a desire to share the delicious and nutritious fruit with friends and family. Rancho Meladuco date farm started with four original trees planted decades ago and, encouraged by the excited reaction to her dates, expanded to serve a larger audience. They use traditional farming and harvesting methods, and pack each box by hand.
