About the producer
When Patrick Coyne went to China after college to teach English, he fell in love with dumpling shops. Whether it was to grab lunch, a quick snack after classes, or a long dinner with friends, a visit to the local dumpling shop became a favorite ritual. Laoban means “boss” in Chinese, and Laoban Dumplings pays homage to the leaders of those dumpling shops. Co-founder and chef Tim Ma started with classic Chinese dumpling recipes, then incorporated new flavor combinations and modern twists, trying many different variations.
