It all started with a cup of coffee. Laird Superfood is based on the idea that nourishing, plant-based foods can help fuel you from sunrise to sunset.
The company was founded by prolific big wave surfer Laird Hamilton. Laird started adding different plant-based fats to his morning coffee to increase his performance on the waves. Not only did his coffee taste amazing, it kept him full and energized for hours.
It wasn’t long before Laird started sharing his “special coffee” with friends and family. He shared his recipe with friend Paul Hodge, and in 2015 Laird Superfood was born.
Laird Superfood still operates as if products are made for friends and family. They believe that the foods you eat should be good for the earth and good for you too. They believe that food should enable you to perform at the highest level, no matter what you're doing, and their promise is to deliver on these values with every product they create.
