Classic Sauteed Green Beans

These make a delicious side to pretty much any dish!

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 shallot, thinly sliced

2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

1 pound green beans, ends removed

1/3 cup water

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

 

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large saute pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Saute the shallot and garlic until fragrant. Add the green beans and increase the heat to high. Saute the green beans until they are uniformly spotted with sear marks.

Add the water to the pan and cover; steam green beans over medium heat for 6 minutes. Remove the lid and add butter and red pepper flakes. Saute until the pan is dry. Serve immediately.
